Dear Website Visitors, Clients, and Prospective Clients, The biggest question a client has when needing and wanting to buy a GPU is how to correctly choose the brand, model, capacity, or type of GPU that best suits their company. Also, which one will be suitable for a specific aircraft. Find out the maximum starting current required by your aircraft and choose a model with at least 50% power reserve. For example: a maximum starting current of 1,100A requires a GPU with a maximum capacity of 2,000A. If its use is in or near the hangar and it doesn't need to be transported on an aircraft, and you also have three-phase electrical power where it will be used, your best option is a 28VDC or 115VAC ELECTRIC GPU. Because they are industrially manufactured and mass-produced, our production line has been reduced to a few models that meet the needs of ALL 28VDC AIRCRAFT. All three horizontal GPUs have similar configurations. One, the JET-POWER FILTER III 2700 HIBRID, has a high capacity and low voltage drop, equipped with a 6.000VA or 20.000VA UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply), ideal for deficient and weak electrical grid because the UPS assists in startup, not demanding much from the network, and the power supply is not interrupted in case of power failure, giving time to save the programming (if programming screens). Also with high capacity is the JET-POWER FILTER II 2500, and another with lower capacity, the JET-POWER FILTER I 2000. All have permanent active electronic protection, high-efficiency DC filter, and automatic current limiting. Optionally, they can also be supplied with a 14VDC output or with longer input or output cables. We also have a good and more economical 28VDC electric GPU option for indoor use in hangars. The Vertical GPUs. We also have in our product line 115VAC, 400Hz Electric GPUs , 115VAC, 400Hz Diesel GPUs and 28VCC DIESEL GPU. If the location where it will be used does not have nearby THREE-PHASE electrical power, or it cannot be provided at a reasonable cost, and its use is not very high, you can opt for a GPU WITH BATTERIES, Portable or Towable. Portable if it needs to be transported by aircraft, and Towable if it will be permanently located on the farm, airstrip or hangar and nearby or remote areas without power. Portable GPUs have a lower starting capacity than a Towable one, and a higher battery replacement cost. (We do not recommend the use of GPUs with batteries where three-phase power is available, because of their maintenance and limited lifespan). If your flight schedule is high and you can't connect a three-phase electric GPU, then you need a DIESEL GPU, which has a diesel generator that provides voltages according to the requirements of the aircraft being serviced (115Vac, 400Hz or 28Vdc, or both together). You also need to know the required power. It shouldn't be less than necessary, but it can be higher without problems, as the GPU (our GPU) only supplies what the aircraft requests, within safety limits. ALL GPUs in our manufacturing line should be specified with power above what is necessary to operate with a safety margin. They can be high-power, but they do not supply current above what the aircraft requires due to the existence of an automatic current limiter in both electric and diesel GPUs. Their design and construction prioritize safety without cost concerns. Our largest GPUs can serve the smallest aircraft or a large, twin-aisle passenger plane for international flights. Decide whether you want to invest wisely once or if you prefer to risk buying the wrong thing. Almost always, the cheapest option isn't the best. Imported or domestically produced GPUs from other manufacturers may be cheaper at the time of purchase, but they have a short lifespan, high replacement parts and maintenance costs, and/or, most importantly, unsatisfactory performance. Equipment like the Jet-Power Filter II 2500, which is the second most expensive, has been the best-selling GPU in Brazil since 1985. Its estimated lifespan is over 40 years. If your current investment is very limited, a good option is a used, refurbished, and updated unit that functions like new, with the same 3-year warranty (for electric GPUs). Check availability. Beware of similar products on the market. They are cheap copies of our GPU. Don't buy a pig in a poke. Evaluate the manufacturer's potential; their time in the market is important because a GPU needs to be reliable (your aircraft is at stake), and only with time can a product be refined, corrected, and improved. If the reason is a lower price, request our advice to help you find the best model and better price and payment terms. Low-cost GPUs don't offer the same level of protection for the aircraft. Remember that the lives of your passengers and crew are at risk, and it could also damage your aircraft's avionics. Search the manuals for the models on this website. |
